Hong Kong Office
The Hong Kong office was set up in 1995 by David Tully who was formerly a Corporate Partner in the Hong Kong office of a major international law firm. The business was established to provide a high level of professional recruitment services to the legal profession in Hong Kong, China and other key jurisdictions in Asia.
Our model is one based on a consultative approach to legal recruitment rather than an agency type approach. We provide advice to clients and candidates to ensure that our clients find the best available lawyers and our candidates find the best possible career opportunities.
We focus on a number of specialist practice areas covering both private practice and in-house. Within our private practice group we have a specialist team which handles the movement of Partners and Teams. This is made up of senior consultants who are ex-Partners of international firms or who have General Counsel level experience in-house. Other Consultants in Hong Kong handle associate level recruitment as well as in-house placements for banks and multinationals. The team works closely with our Beijing office in handling cross border instructions and the movement of candidates between Hong Kong and China.
Beijing Office
Our Beijing office was set up following the company being accredited under CEPA and receiving one of the first Job Intermediary licences from the Chinese Government. The office is conveniently located in the central business district of Beijing and has three consultants all of whom are qualified solicitors, one of whom is a PRC lawyer. Between them they possess a unique understanding of how business is carried on in China and in particular how the legal profession, both in house and private practice, operates.
The Beijing team acts for international and regional law firms who have established offices in Beijing and/or Shanghai. It also works closely with leading domestic Chinese law firms in servicing their increasing recruitment needs. The Beijing office works with a number of multinational corporations, banks and other financial services providers as they seek to either set up an in-house function or expand existing departments.
The Beijing office works with a broad range of candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. These include PRC lawyers as well as overseas qualified lawyers who have chosen to pursue careers in China. Members of the China team work closely with colleagues in Hong Kong in handling the placement of lawyers based in Hong Kong who wish to relocate to China as well as lawyers in China looking to move to Hong Kong.
